OBJECTIVE

To compile a recollection of fine art that reflects major aspects of my life. This handmade artbook explores several themes about the importance of identity and memory recollections. There is an emphasis on where public and private borders are blurred. The chapters focus on identity, connection, culture, and where I stand as a creative being in the world today. Includes illustration, painting, photography, and writing.

SOLUTION

Includes a variety of Painting, Illustration, and Photography in an art journal that is hand made and to reflect elements and principles that reflect a traveler’s journal. This book explores elements where structures are conveyed and broken throughout through the use of collage and overlapping of paint and text. My subject mater consists of fragmentary depictions of life based off my personal transitions through life. Identity helps construct and recognize our own individual experiences as a way to position ourselves in societal and cultural expectations. Thus creating a process that constructs and deconstructs aspects of life from the past may help to make sense of the world today and the future.
