THE OBJECTIVE

The focus of this project consists of creating three t-shirt designs, one which will be screen-printed manually, followed by a packaging and brochure design. My concept focuses on music and this one band named Mumford and Sons, a British folk/rock group. The concept consists of incorporating an antique feel inspired by Edison Records, created by Thomas Edison in 1888. These where one of the earliest record labels which pioneered sound recording and reproduction and was significant in the early recording industry. The elements of the phonograph and illustrations must be unified throughout.

THE SOLUTION

I attempt to explore their older songs and continual existence and regularity of our contingent world and physical laws. Their spiritual connotations may be viewed as a way to connect individuals to nature and to raise awareness of the worlds fragility with mankind. Due to the limited color pallet, Gold may be viewed as a sense of illumination, passion, magic, and wisdom. Black and the maroon emphasize the more chaotic aspects of reality. Since white is the combination of all colors, the idea of understanding all of the complexities of the world balanced out may relate to a sense of peace. The symbolism of the circle reflects continuity, rejuvenation, and creativity.
