OBJECTIVE

This commission consists of a pedicab painting mural at the shop. The theme must reflect steam-punk elements and the history of Savannah GA. Currently the main issue with the logo is the vast amount of space it takes up. The hierarchy of the current business card is not as clear as can be and the phone number is too large. The mural must reveal a sense of motion and grunge.

SOLUTION

The mural will consist of design found within the streets of Savannah, whether it be found upon homes, churches, and or any other influential design. There’s a balance of organic and more fine detailed aspects. The city reconstruction grew and economic depression slowly faded due to the increasing wealth of urbanization, industrialization, and the expansion of the cotton exchange. This lead to the development of other architecture designs such as Romanesque revival and Neoclassism. Thus reflecting Savannah history along with elements of a “clock” to refer to a sense of time and “limits” will be depicted throughout. The design will include more illustrative elements with clean lines in illustrator which will then be transferred as a stencil where spray paint and acrylic paint will follow. shapes in order to provide a sense of ‘transition”.
